About the Book

This book is a visual celebration of seabirds from the tropics to the polar regions, revealing their extraordinary lives in pictures and words. From seabird cities to a lone albatross circumnavigating the globe, each picture not only tells a story but is beautifully crafted. David Tipling has traveled the world s oceans and visited remote islands across the globe in order to reveal the secret lives of some of earth s most enigmatic species of birds. Seabirds of the World celebrates the lives of these remarkable birds, many of which have populations in crisis. Never before has such a large group of birds needed such urgent action to save them from the brink of extinction.

About the Author :
David Tipling is an award-winning wildlife photographer with a passion for birds. He is the author or commissioned photographer for more than 40 books including the widely acclaimed Birds,  People and Penguins: Close Encounters. When not photographing his other passions in life include Formula One motor racing and managing a four-acre wood close to his home in north Norfolk, UK.

Review :
Amateur Photographer Magazine: "...Like all good books on natural subjects, there's plenty of space dedicated to in-depth text discussing the secret lives of the subjects. All in all, this is a book that is a great purchase for either the armchair ornithologist or those looking to get out there in the summer air to photograph these magnificent creatures". Outdoor Photography Magazine: Book of the Month!! "For the last 30 years the British wildlife photographer has journeyed from Antarctica to the Arctic to scope out unusual images of Marine-based birds, and the very best are showcased here..." Digital Camera Magazine (Sept 2016) 'David Tipling is renowned in the industry for his magnificent images of seabirds. His latest book Seabirds of the World showcases stunning imagery from Antarctica to the Arctic.; Mark Cocker - Eastern Daily Press: The whole book is more than a standard manual of wildlife information. It is a work of art by one of Britain's leading nature photographers. he author is deeply alive to the context in which his seabirds live. He is always playing with the depth of focus or looking for angles or opportunities and calculating the exact moment to take the shot, so that a single photograph becomes a way of summarising an entire mode of existence. And while rugged landscapes and environmental stress are constant elements, there is also great tenderness in the book.; British Birds (Sept 2016) This book would make a nice present for anyone who really appreciates Seabirds.
