About the Author :
Paul Mannion grew up in the town of Basingstoke, England during the 1980s and 1990s, always clutching his beloved teddy, Mr. Ted (Baxter), by his side. One fateful morning on a crowded bus into the town centre, Paul's Mother realised he'd been left behind. For three long months she phoned the bus station, hoping someone would call to say he'd turned up. Finally, a kindly bus-station employee rang with good news: Mr. Ted had been found! He was a little worse for wear, a missing eye and nose, but Paul's Mother carefully stitched him a bright new nose, and he was as good as new.He now lives in Dublin, Ireland with his Wife, their dog, and of course, the one-eyed Mr. Ted still by his side for every twist and turn life has to offer. I'm an illustrator based in Somerset, specialising in children's publishing. My work blends traditional and digital techniques, often using a watercolour inspired style that suits young audiences. With a background in realism and mixed media, I incorporate traditional techniques into my process, whether I'm working digitally in Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, or InDesign, or experimenting with printmaking and mark making.I've written and illustrated my own children's book, Finley's Big Bake, and recently taken part in The Great Tail Trail an outdoor art trail raising funds for Julia's House Children's Hospice. I'm passionate about creating character focused work and I'm always looking for new ways to bring stories to life through illustration.

Review :
Relatable, heart warming book my kid loves (great illustrations too!)

"Lovely book and illustrations! My daughter was really taken to it (and gave me a full walk through the book herself explaining in detail what was going on with Baxter). It is very relatable for children of course, as loving and losing a Teddy is a common pain for them. Great heart warming book and perfect for night time!"

The new favorite bedtime book

"As a parent of a 3-year-old boy, finding a book that actually holds his attention for more than thirty seconds is usually a challenge. However, Baxter is Missing has become the undisputed champion of our bedtime routine.

If you're looking for a book that balances a dramatic story with a sweet ending, this is it.

The art is vibrant and full of little details. We spend a lot of time doing "search and find" on the pages before we even move on to the next page.

The story is very relatable, as most children have at some point lost a favourite childhood toy or teddy. I can see this one being read many more times in our house, yet the heartwarming story never gets repetitive. Highly recommended."

Great book!

"really, really enjoyed this book. It's such a sweet and charming little story, and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful. They add warmth and depth to the narrative, making the whole reading experience even more engaging.

I think this would be a wonderful book for teachers and early childhood educators to read aloud during circle time. It would also work beautifully for parents to share with their children before nap time or in the evening as part of a calming bedtime routine.

It's the kind of book that can truly be enjoyed by the whole family or an entire classroom. As an early childhood educator, I genuinely believe this is a lovely addition to any home or educational setting, and I would absolutely recommend it."

Beautiful Story Highly recommend!

"Amazing story about loss and a child being reunited with a treasured possession. Very relatable to children and written in a very accessible language for younger children. My child loved the story about Baxter getting left behind and being found again. Highly recommend for children of most ages!"
