About the Book

The Real-Life Guide Every 13-Year-Old Needs (That School Doesn't Teach) Growing up isn't easy-and being 13 can feel like the toughest part. One minute you're expected to act like a kid, and the next you're supposed to have everything figured out. But where are the tools to actually do that? Everything a 13-Year-Old Should Know (But Won't Learn at School) is the ultimate guide to help tweens take on the teen years with confidence, clarity, and real-world know-how. Written by best-selling author Ferne Bowe, this book skips the boring stuff and dives into what really matters-life skills, emotional tools, and street smarts that make growing up just a little easier (and a lot less confusing). Inside, teens will discover: How to manage money, spend smart, and understand taxes without the headache Practical know-how like cooking, doing laundry, and staying safe online Tips to handle stress, anxiety, and overwhelm like a pro What to do about friend drama, bullying, and awkward social situations Why being different is something to celebrate A behind-the-scenes look at how the media, influencers, and marketing shape our choices Big ideas like setting goals, building habits, and planning for the future This isn't just another book with rules-it's a relatable, teen-friendly guide packed with advice that actually makes sense. Perfect for ages 12-14, this is the book every young teen (and their parents) will wish they had sooner.

About the Author :
Ferne Bowe is a parent, marketing professional, and author of Life Skills for Young Adults & Life Skills for Tweens. With two kids of her own, she has first-hand experience with the challenges and triumphs of raising a teen. While watching her kids growing up, she noticed the gap between the skills kids need to thrive in the real world and what they are taught in school. For example, she noted that while kids are often taught how to get good grades, they are rarely taught how to manage their finances or have difficult conversations. She is on a mission to close that gap and help kids, and young adults find their purpose, develop self-awareness and confidence, and build their skills to create a life they love. Her message is simple: Mastering life skills and taking ownership of day-to-day tasks is the key to success, no matter your goals. Adopting this principle helps tweens, teens, and young adults develop the skills they need to live a successful life.Ferne loves traveling, spending time with her family and friends, reading, and running. She also enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and singing (badly). When she's not in front of a PC, you'll usually find her outside enjoying the countryside.

Review :
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Douglas Kiene (United States) Great collection of life lessons and skills This book series does a great job of bringing together essential skills and core concepts that most of us are forced to just pick up along the way. Hopeful this book can offer my daughters a headstart and a more intentional learning path than I had! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Samantha Golden (United States) Another great guide to navigate life with real world applications This book for teens is chock full of all things you need to be successful, but they never teach you in school. Designed to be self-paced, each chapter has a practical skill as well as real world examples of implementation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Dawn L (United States) Great life skills guide for tweens and teens! I'm really looking forward to going through this book with my 11yr old. It's super easy to understand and covers a wide range of real life topics like money and smart shopping, handling emotions and stress, making new friends (and letting go of unhealthy ones), time management, safety online and offline, and other basic life skills. I also love that it comes with a free downloadable workbook you can print and use alongside the book - such a great bonus! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Rozalind Ripley (United States) Simple and straightforward This book is very simple and well written. Its like having a list at your finger tips. It's easy to follow. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Michael FM (United States) A great compendium of the stuff we need to know beyond academics!!! My 13 y.o. is a gifted student who understands the need for more than just academics as she grows up. This book serves as a compendium for most, if not all, of the extra stuff necessary to know in order to succeed in life. She says it's filled with "excellent life-hacks". I know the world is going to be a pretty tough place for future generations, so instead of lamenting what school didn't provide, my girl can use this book to get the basics necessary to make it in life.
