This is the second of three books that together provide comprehensive coverage of Second Level Mathematics & Numeracy. This book is fully aligned with the Scottish curriculum, designed to build learners’ confidence through regular practice and meaningful opportunities to revisit key skills throughout the year.
Key features of the book include:
Skill-by-skill development: Each topic is introduced step by step, allowing learners to build confidence and deepen their understanding through clear progression, building on skills developed in book 2B.
Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract: CPA learning approaches are integrated throughout the book to support deep conceptual understanding. Learners move from practical, hands-on experiences to clear visual representations and then to secure abstract thinking. Learners will develop their number skills through use of number lines, bar models and more.
Extensive Practice: As with all ZETA resources, lots of examples and practice for every exercise. This ensures all learners have regular, structured opportunities to consolidate their basic skills and grow in mathematical assurance.
Separate sections of the book are devoted to the development of Number Skills, Mental Maths and Maths in Context to support the development or reasoning and problem solving.
