About the Book

With the right DNA, you could be free from disease, free from ageing. You could even, perhaps, live forever. John Andrews has the right DNA ... and so did his daughter, Paola. In 2012, art-forgery expert Ced Fisher is contacted by a woman from Boston wanting him to compare paintings by two female artists -- one modern and one from the 19th century. When Ced discovers that the paintings are by the same artist, he immediately thinks of his 600-year-old artist friend John Andrews and his incredible history. Could the artist be John's long-lost daughter, Paola Santini, born centuries ago in Naples? And if so, who is the woman in Boston? Further enquiries reveal that the modern artist, Annie Carr, was a delusional murderer incarcerated in a state psychiatric institution in Colorado in 1970, and worse, she is now long dead. But was she delusional or was the psychiatrist who diagnosed her misled? And how accurate are the reports of her death? The second book in the Rare Traits Trilogy continues the tale of 15th-century artist John Andrews and those who share his extraordinary longevity. Centred around the daughter John has never met, Delusional Traits is the story of a woman whose character was honed by adversity, her life a constant fight for survival in a world that will never understand her.

Review :
1) Great Read by Margaret Rauchon Format: PaperbackAfter reading Rare Traits, I hastened to read the second book in this trilogy, Delusional Traits, which I have just finished (in two sittings). I thoroughly enjoyed reading both books. The author has made his main characters interesting and sympathetic and the story moves at a fast pace. I recommend both these books and am very much looking forward to the publication of the third book.2) A Page Turner by HMRFormat paperbackI enjoyed Rare Traits very much, as it brought together many interesting passions of mine. The second book Delusional Traits is good and the story line keeps you turning the pages. Old characters are woven in with the new and it brings the sorry together, you are left with a cliffhanger ending, whetting your appetite for the next book..... Really looking forward to the next book. Well done !3) Are you prepared for less sleep? by J Walker Verified Kindle purchaseI was very much looking forward to this book... Like its predecessor, I was caught up in the story within minutes, laughing aloud at the description of the man with a crowbar face. I particularly enjoyed the way the two books (stories) were brought together, without too much repetition. And now, the long wait for the 3rd: (4) Excellent but start with book 1 By Ameenah on August 2, 2017. Verified Purchase. Another excellent story with some characters from book 1 plus some new ones and a few surprises. The story is so enjoyable that it is hard to not read cover-to-cover in one sitting. This is book 2 of a 3 book series which should be read in order 5) Great series! By Pam Taylor on 28 April, 2016, Verified purchase. I read a LOT of free books, many of which are "book 1." There are only a few times where I've paid to read the entire series. This is a shining example of fiction, well written with a unique but credible premise. Great mix of history, mystery, and science! 6) Loved this book By Quilter 8 October, 2015. Verified purchase. I started reading this book immediately after finishing the first book in the series. I liked this one even better than book one. Again, it was great to read a book that has obviously had a qualified editor.7) Part II - a must-read continuation of Rare Traits by Proofreader Format: Kindle Edition Verified PurchaseThis is Book Two of the Rare Traits trilogy, examining another branch of John Andrews' family - his daughter Paola, introduced to us in the first book. It takes place in modern times to a great degree but is written with the same care and historical detail, and brings back almost all the characters we got to know in Book One.
