About the Author :
Ese is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant and former GP with a passion for learning, who previously ran a hugely successful courses teaching young GPs how to pass their postgraduate exams. Over the past 18 years she has taken an active part in the education of her children, resulting in the VIP learning series, designed for parents that don't feel happy leaving their child's education in the hands of the school. Ese has lived in the UK and in France, and her children have been both home educated and school educated. She has tried out and seen a myriad of different approaches to education, and come to realize that lack of good educational routines early on during the child's life can often lead to difficulties getting down to more focused learning during the teenage years. Her observation is that a routine of 'study' most days helps children, not only to be disciplined in their work but also to value the free time that comes after it. Later on, during those teenage years, it fosters the ability to work autonomously. Starting out with good routines and habits pays huge dividends in the long run. Those early habits don't need to be arduous or fear inducing; fear blocks learning, and so rather learning must be fun and intuitive, and tailored to each child's particular needs.
