About the Book

Would you think yourself able to pilot a jumbo jet because you have travelled by air a lot? Or perform brain surgery because you like to watch medical soaps on TV? Of course not. So why do people think they can write a book just because they've read some? It is a mystery which has puzzled best-selling author George East for many years, and one which he addresses in this amusing, entertaining and, most importantly, very informative guide. In How to write a Best Seller, George looks at every aspect of the arts, crafts and crafty tricks involved in putting a book together. After identifying and exploring all genres from non-fiction to novels, thrillers, whodunits and even kiss 'n' tell books, he looks at those which sell best, and the common key factors which make them a hit. Having helped you decide on the type of book best suited to your inclinations and latent talent, George gets down to the business of how to plot, structure and write your potential best-seller. The former editor of Food & Drink Magazine has spent half a century learning the ropes of how to write, and the distillation of all he has learned as a newspaper reporter, columnist, copywriter and memoir and fiction author can be found in the pages of How to write a Best Seller. But, as he stresses, the only way to become a successful writer is to get on with it and write, write, write. For sure, you won't become a successful author just by reading this book, but it could certainly set you on the right road to literary fame and fortune ...

About the Author :
George East is the author of eleven successful books, but only took to writing full-time after trying out a number of life options. Leaving school with no qualifications, he worked as a private detective, film and TV extra, night club bouncer and DJ, demolition worker, brewer's drayman, magazine editor, pickled onion manufacturer, snooker club owner, publican, failed rock god, TV and radio presenter, seamstress and the world's first and probably only professional bed tester. He contributes to many publications among which is French Property News, France being one of his pet loves.

Review :
Devotees of George's relaxed style of writing will recognise at once the warmth and humour within these pages. Aspiring writers will find encouragement and tips galore, with just the right amount of reality checks along the way. Few authors are willing to spill the beans on creative writing; that George has chosen to do so is highly altruistic, particularly given the fact that he appears to have lost his shirt along the way.Amazon reader.
