About the Book

Have you ever wondered why the younger generation makes so many mistakes in life? The logical conclusion is that they haven't gained the wisdom and experiences of more mature adults. When we reach middle-age we have the benefit of hindsight, acquired patience and thoughtfulness. We make decisions and approach life's distresses in a non-emotional, considered way and we are all too well aware of the consequences of bad decisions. We are too seasoned to repeat the mistakes of youth. Wrong! Regardless of age, it seems we approach traumas in the same irrational and emotional state of our youth. This book examines Seth's experiences and his decision making process through his encounters in marriage, his second divorce, middle-age dating, the cancer of his son, and the incredible political and economic mess the world is in and how our 'mature' politicians are addressing that mess. The author also offers insights to those "in the middle" on how to deal with the traumas of life.

About the Author :
Seth is currently 56 years old, he grew up in rural Ohio. He paid his way through college, and when he graduated from college he virtually had no college debt. Seth has one son, Irish. He was a psychology major in college until the beginning of his junior year when he changed paths and picked up a double major in accounting. He also took quite a few writing classes and always seemed to do well in those. He was a pretty serious student and worked hard for over three years. In his senior year he was the Student Director of the Student Union Building and an RA in the dorm. He was on track for nomination for the annual award for seniors: outstanding senior man, but blew it in the last few months. As an accounting major he was hired by one of the prestigious "Big Eight" accounting firms. After forty-five years of working hard to get through college and struggling through the ranks of corporate finance, he finally started making serious money. When Seth was younger, his dad subscribed to 'Outdoor Life' and he learned from that publication there was more to hunting and fishing than could be had in rural Ohio. He looked at pictures and read stories of fly fishing for trout and salmon in crystal clear mountain streams and hunting over bird dogs for upland birds. He learned to love the mountains from that publication and it became his dream lifestyle. While in his mid-forties he had five really good years financially and the pursuit of childhood dreams suddenly became feasible. He started seeking land out west and looked at property in Wyoming, Utah, Montana, and Colorado. He ended up buying land in the Colorado Rockies with the intent of building a home there and enjoying life while he was still young enough to be active. After the land purchase he still had some cash in the bank and felt if he could get a house built for a reasonable price he could retire there with little to no debt. After twenty plus years in corporate life and making good money, he went back to school, started his own businesses, and was self-employed for seven years. Now after two divorces and the cancer of his son, and years of legal battle eating up his hard earned money, he believes he is in a sort of a mid-life crisis. The idea for this book came to his mind many years ago and its concept has evolved somewhat over the years.
