About the Book

With the changing faces of today's congregations comes the need for a new style of worship. He believes that the long-standing styles of Eurocentric worship need to be flexible. The Rev John Danso's major concern is the style of worship in today's main churches that may not take the needs of a multicultural congregation into account. 'Join in; Breaking Tradition, Embracing Culture, Styles of Multicultural Worship' is based on a project that sets out to discover how churches are incorporating multicultural styles of worship into traditional Eurocentric styles of worship. The result is four models of multicultural worship which can act as a guide to help Ministers and Worship Leaders introduce multicultural worship into their congregations. The book has been designed to encourage people of different ethnicities to remain with their churches by incorporating their styles of worship into exisiting church ritual. The book comes with an accompanying DVD to give a taste of what multicultural worship is all about. John Danso describes himself as Ghanaian-British which gives him a unique insight into these issues. He is a Minister of the United Reformed Church in North London and a graduate of Birmingham University.
