About the Author :
Rob Brown obtained an honours degree in Education from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1992, majoring in Physical Education and Mathematics. During his studies, and particularly after graduating in 1992, Rob indulged his love of travel, working for ve years in American summer camps and travelling extensively throughout Australia, North America and South East Asia. After graduating, Rob lived the expat life in Hong Kong from 1993-1997, working in teaching, journalism, advertising and even acting. A keen musician, he wrote and starred in two sell-out shows in the sister festival to Edinburgh, The Hong Kong Fringe, and brought out a successful album of jazz and pop songs which sold throughout the world! After a sabbatical in the USA in 1996, where he became a Christian, Rob returned to the UK to work at the UK's 4th largest secondary school in his hometown of Hull in Yorkshire. He undertook a Masters in Human Resource Development in 1999, before being approached by worldwide health organisation, BUPA, for a direct sales position in private healthcare. This often brutal 'commission only' role allowed Rob to cut his teeth selling and marketing, and gave him unique insight into what it takes to win business from scratch. In 2002, he started work with a business networking company, the Kintish organisation, delivering network training. In 2004, he launched his own consultancy to help business professionals network more strategically, generate more high quality referrals and build more pro table client relationships. In 2006, he invented and successfully trademarked the TRIP System(R), which stands for Turning Relationships Into Pro ts. To ful l the demand for his writing on relationship marketing, networking, referrals and reputation building, Rob launched a members-only website in 2006 - www.thetripsystem.com - to provide premium content articles, development programmes and educational materials to subscribers worldwide. He is a Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association and speaks internationally on relationship and reputation marketing for business professionals. He lives in Nottingham with wife Amanda and daughters Georgia and Madison. When he's not speaking or writing, Rob juggles, plays chess and tennis, and enjoys cycling. His life mission is to give GBP1m to good godly causes in his lifetime!
