About the Book

Kronkite is a dwarf crocodile who lives with his family in Croc Hollow in the Congo. One day he sets off on a quest to find flowers of the rare Leopard Orchid to help his sick friend, Bull. Along the way he is helped by a pygmy hippopotamus, a chimpanzee, a group of African parrots and a stern white rhinoceros called Sergeant Sim. But that's not their only mission. Kronkite finds out that the dwarf crocodiles are in danger and they embark on a journey to retrieve the stolen Tablet in a desperate attempt to protect their habitat. 'Kronkite's Chronicles' is wonderfully evocative of Africa and emphasises the value of conservation. This easy-to-read book will delight and educate readers of all ages.

About the Author :
Peter was born in July 1959 in Pampisford, south of Cambridge. One of four children, he enjoyed a very happy childhood provided by his parents, Bob and Margaret. The long hot summer holidays were spent working on a local farm and was the basis for his lifelong love of animals. He was educated locally and left Sawston Village College at the age of sixteen. The next few years were spent moving from job to job, none of which he found challenging or stimulating. In 1979 he decided to move to Ottawa, Canada. Any spare time he had would find him in the vast wilderness watching and tracking many of the indigenous species of the area, including brown bear, moose, deer, porcupine, beaver and racoon. He returned to the UK in 1984 to pursue a career in sales. He frequently travelled to Petwork Park in Sussex where he formed a very close friendship with David Whitby, a man he describes as one of the world's leading authorities on conservation and someone who really cares for the environment. When in his company you never stop learning says Peter. In conclusion, his own philosophy can be summed up in one sentence: 'Protect and nurture our planet and in turn she will do the same for you.'
