About the Book

This book is the second edition of "A historical Phase appreciation of weapon procurement" ISBN 1 901414 00 0. It builds upon that book both theoretically qand emperically. Whereas that first edition contained no references, this book details all the sources consulted. This has been at the request of academic researchers who wish to use this book as a reference and for core course reading. The academic and historic purpose of this book is to present the manner in weapons are procurred in phases. The first edition of this book considered phase as the concept, direction and maturation of the procurement of a weapon. This was in direct relation to the actual procurement process of each weapon system. This edition takes this a step further considering each phase as both a phase of procurement comparatively in war and peace as well as the a phase in the actual procurement process. This is the prime reason for the change in the title of the book.
