Each of the seventy places profiled here serves the traditional cuisine of Argentina in unforgettable authentic settings. You'll find a devoted local clientele, modest prices, generous servings, and friendly owners at these cafes, bars, coffeehouses, and restaurants where each has a unique history, atmosphere, or menu that make them worth visiting. At one bar, young tango musicians gather nightly, and, after a few drinks and empanadas (made by the owner himself), spontaneously perform. There's a tiny parrilla known not only for the best steaks at the best price, but for its eternally festive atmosphere.
