In conclusion, the book focuses on the dominant processes, techniques, and tools that have been used to successfully plan, implement, and operate distance learning projects. It will be informative and useful for professionals and educators who are interested in preparing themselves for the transition from traditional learning to the emerging distance learning environment." – TOJDE, Volume 5, Number 2, April 2004 "Belanger and Jordan demonstrate insights to not only the theories but also to the practical challenge of learning in today's ever-changing and dynamic environment. Every teacher, whether an academic or corporate trainer, should read this book." – Janice R. Thomas, Teligent, Inc. "I would strongly recommend to anyone, academic or professional, wanting to understand what distance learning is and the technologies involved in a successful implementation. Frameworks and prior research support the foundation of distance learning and set the stage for discussion in this straightforward book." – Kelly M. Hilmer, Ph.D.,Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Virginia Tech "Belanger and Jordan provide those who feel that they must, or at least should, come to grips with the opportunities and challenges presented by distance learning with an easy to read, yet rigorous and comprehensive guide.
