About the Book

Abbey Jones was not what you could call an ordinary girl. The only thing she could remember when she was found washed ashore as a child was that she was an orphan, true she looked a normal girl, but she had a secret and that was uncontrollable hair. She knew that most girls complained about their hair, in fact hers looked perfect. She loved her uncontrollable soft long blond hair, it was only that she just wished it would stop stealing chocolates and threatening to bite people! "For the Love of Chocolate" is a collectors edition. It has luxury hardback. It is a fully cased book, with chocolate brown wibalin cloth, square backed & Jacketed. With this book, the author produces a unique type of book which crosses the boundaries ,between the pen of the writer, and the brush of the artist. This unusual novel by Nicholas Reardon comes with a hint of Manga Art as the pages of the book are brought to life with the illustrations of the manga artist Heby Sim. The story follows the life of a high school student Abbey Jones who perhaps acts a little odd at times but then being a teenage girl odd can be just a normal state to be in, it was just that when she warned people not to touch her hair as the hair didn't like it, she meant it. Why the Chocolate well you will just need to read the book for that answer. Washed up: it was a wet and windy day as Tom slowly made his way over the rocks near his home. He was bored. If it had been a warm and sunny day he could have watched the girls sunbathing and perhaps even talked to them, but not today. The only birds about were seagulls and of no interest except as target practice, and he threw a pebble at the nearest one to send it noisily back into the air. Scanning the coastline, Tom saw what looked like a body lying on the rocks near the water and slowly made his way towards it, thinking as he went that it was not the weather to sunbathe, and certainly not in that position - half on the rocks and half in the water. He was not sure what he would find. At fourteen, he was all for meeting girls, and this body looked female; but as a rule he preferred them alive. As he got closer he saw that all she had on was a long wet t-shirt - which sounded far sexier than what he was now looking at rather disappointedly. As he got closer, she looked as if she was breathing so he gently prodded her with a foot to see what would happen; she let out a soft groan and opened her eyes. A boy's face which said its name was Tom swam unclearly into view and offered to take her to his home. All she could think of to say was that she was a little too old for him but thank you anyway, which just produced an odd look on his face and an offer of his sweatshirt as she was not wearing very much and could catch cold. She did not feel cold but pulled it on with arms that felt as if they were made of lead, and then she tried to stand up. It very nearly worked too - apart from the world spinning at great speed with some very pretty stars - then the ground leapt up and hit her quite hard, which was most unfair of it as she could not remember giving it any reason to - then the world went all fuzzy and she passed out.
