About the Book

"Bristol from the Air" is the latest book in the highly successful "From the Air" series. Aerial photographer David Goddard has spent two years photographing the architecture, the festivals, the industrial infrastructure and the outstanding countryside that makes Bristol such a stunning area of Great Britain. "Bristol from the Air" is the stunning result of David's time featuring over 150 images from the city. During his research for this title, David contacted hundreds of people in Bristol for their suggestions for sites to be included in the book. The recommendations he received came from MPs, local historians, university lecturers and people in street. Highlights of this title include Bristol Cathedral, Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Balloon Festival, numerous private and public historical houses, River Avon, the Chew Valley and many hidden or forgotten sites around the city.

About the Author :
David Goddard is one of a small number of full time specialist Aerial Photographers working in the UK and Europe. David's images have been used by newspapers, book publishers and television stations all over the world. He has worked on many varied aerial photography and television projects including the British Grand Prix, the Glastonbury Festival, the Tour de France and Royal State Occasions. David's photography career started at the age of 16, when he became one of the youngest photographers working for the UK and American Music Press. Over the following years David explored many other areas of photography. Then in 1994 during a flying lesson, David photographed a spitfire & Lancaster flying over the South Downs and within minutes he found himself hooked on aerial photography. This was the beginning of a new 15-year apprenticeship.
