About the Book

This work is intended as a companion to textbooks, lecture notes and correspondence courses. It enables the student to ascertain the essential elements of cases of the wording of Acts of Parliament to which he or she has been referred in the course of his or her studies. The case notes contain an outline of the facts and a summary of those points in the judgment which are vital from a student's point of view. Cross-references have been made so that the student will have no difficulty in finding other cases in which either the same or a similar point arose. The statutes, or extracts from them, have been carefully selected in the light of the student's needs. Most importantly, where amendments have been made, the various provisions are set out in their amended form. The new edition contains summaries of 114 recent cases, including 41 House of Lords (or Privy Council) and 54 Court of Appeal decisions. The statutes section now includes the relevant provisions of the Broadcasting Act 1990 and the Water Resources Act 1991.

Table of Contents:
Part 1 Cases: concise summaries of the facts and judgments in over 600 decisions to which students will need to refer.
