General Practice: (Bar Finals Manuals)

One of a series of revised and updated texts intended for students of the Bar Vocational Course, which places emphasis on the teaching and learning of legal skills. This book on commercial practice is divided into European Community Competition Law and Law of International Trade. These areas are clearly central to modern commercial legal practice. In each, the text provides a background outline of the law, with the emphasis on practical application. The intention is not to provide a comprehensive textbook, as in practice the barrister will refer to practitioner works and appropriate references. These books provide a sound foundation in these complex areas for the young barrister. The text is designed to support a course in which students will be working on small cases of the type that they are likely to encounter in early practice. The emphasis in this work is therefore on using the skills of the barrister to deal with problems. The text does not include coverage of company law, which is contained in the Chancery Practice Manual. An outline of the principles of law relating to business associations is included in the companion "Manual on Remedies and Practical Background".
