About the Author :
The five editors all hold senior university posts in applied linguistics and foreign/second language pedagogy, three in Western Europe and two in North America. Robert Phillipson is at Roskilde, Denmark, Eric Kellerman at Nijmegen, Holland, and Mike Sharwood Smith at Utrecht, Holland. Larry Selinker is at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, USA, Merrill Swain at the Modern Language Centre, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Toronto. Four of the editors did postgraduate study in foreign and second language learning at British universities, as did Claus Faerch. They have extensive experience of empirical and theoretical research in this field.
