Review :
An excellent overview...this is a very readable book and also enables the busy clinician to scan the text with highlighted boxes relating to the important points. It is up-to-date with discussions on some of the latest treatments...[I] would highly recommend it to both cardiologists and general physicians. Postgraduate Medical Journal ...has comprehensively covered all aspects in a detailed yet simple way. The book format is appealing and essential practice points are highlighted in table form in each chapter. Readers of this book will undoubtedly enjoy it and find it a great companion. Journal of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh Anyone considering writing an introductory medical text would do well to adopt this book as a model of its kind...clear typeface and shaded summary boxes...the references are both up-to-date and numerous, allowing readers to usefully pursue any points of particular interest...This is undoubtedly a useful and valuable book which can be profitably read by all those wishing to practice general medicine, whether in a hospital or community setting. British Journal of Cardiology The coverage of all issues is based on worldwide research. Professor Lip has succeeded brilliantly with this brief guide. Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine ... provides a clear, concise, management orientated approach to the condition. International Journal of Clinical Practice The heart failure book is excellent...the atrial fibrillation book is a little gem...These volumes are superb...a must have Pharmaceutical Physician, 2002 Makes excellent continuing medical education and is highly recommendable. Gerontology The book manages to include a lot of information...it is very readable. The Ulster Medical Journal A welcome edition to the existing library on the topic of atrial fibrillation. It is easy to read and the information is made more memorable by the use of many bullet points, text boxes and tables. It would serve well the need of many busy physicians who do not want to read through unnecessary detail but who would, nevertheless, like to refresh their knowledge on this important topic.
