Review :
Maen debyg mai rhyw berthynas chwerw-felys sydd gen i a hunangofiannau. Am ryw reswm, llyfrau or fath syn dueddol o fod ar waelod y pentwr iw darllen ond, yn aml, dymar union lyfrau syn rhoir boddhad mwyaf. Y gamp gyda chyfrolau or fath yw sicrhau nad oes gormod o gatharsis hunanganolog ynddynt, ac er bod elfen o hynny yma, maer gyfrol yn llwyddo i gyfuno hanes personol digon helbulus ar adegau hanesion difyr am gydnabod, am deulu ac am enwau byd-enwog. A stori chwerw-felys yw un Malcolm Allen - y bachgen bach o bentref Deiniolen, Eryri, Gwynedd (fel y cawn ein hatgoffan aml), y pl-droediwr proffesiynol ar sylwebydd cyffrous a lliwgar. Daeth hin amlwg fod ganddo dalent a photensial i chwarae pl-droed ers pan oedd yn ifanc iawn, a cheir rhywfaint o ddealltwriaeth or aberth ar hunanbenderfyniad sydd ei angen i lwyddo. Ac yntau prin yn un ar bymtheg oed, gwelwyd ef yn gwireddu breuddwydion cymaint o fechgyn tebyg iddo drwy gael cynnig prentisiaeth gan glwb pl-droed Watford; tm oedd ar ei brifiant dan berchenogaeth y canwr Elton John ar rheolwr hynaws, dawnus, Graham Taylor. Yn l Iwan Roberts, ei gyd-sylwebydd ar Radio Cymru, datblygodd Malcolm Allen i fod yn un or sgorwyr mwyaf clinigol a gynhyrchodd Cymru erioed. Er i mi deimlo fy mod yn gwybod rhywfaint oi hanes yn barod, roedd dysgu am fywyd pl-droediwr proffesiynol ar y lefel uchaf un yn hynod ddifyr - or clebran ar y cae ir betion drwm ar gmau ar parton meddwol. A dydy e ddim yn ofni ei dweud hi fel mae ef yn ei gweld hi chwaith, a dydy hi ddim yn debygol fod Malcolm Allen ar restr cardiau Nadolig John Toshack na Bobby Gould. Maen amlwg wrth ddarllen y gyfrol fod ei deulu yn Neiniolen a Watford yn bwysig iawn iddo, ac mae fel pe bain teimlo ir byw pan fon ei gadael i lawr o ganlyniad i'w gamweddau niferus. Maer rheiny, fel arfer, yn deillio o or-yfed alcohol, yn enwedig pan gafodd anaf difrifol i'w ben-glin. Ond mynna nad yw, ac na fu erioed, yn ddibynnol ar alcohol a diddorol hefyd oedd darllen yr hanes am sut y gwnaeth sgan ar ei ymennydd ddadlennu cyfrinachau am ei ymddygiad. Mae Cymreictod wedi dod i olygu rhywbeth llawer mwy iddo'n ddiweddar ac mae ei ddycnwch i ddysgu siarad Cymraeg graenus unwaith eto yn dangos dyfalbarhad a phenderfyniad oedd yn nodweddiadol oi fywyd cynnar er mwyn llwyddo mewn byd hynod gystadleuol. Meddai mewn un man, Ac roedd yr awydd hwnnw i wella, a datblygu, a chryfhau, yn awydd dwfn, dwfn ynof, yn rhan om henaid. Mae'r elfen bengaled iw gymeriad yn cael ei hamlygu o dro i dro ond maen gallu chwerthin am ei ben ei hun hefyd ac mae ei gyfieithiad llythrennol o peach of a goal yn ddoniol iawn! Gall neb gymryd oddi ar berson ei hanes personol a thrwyr gyfrol down i wybod am gyrraedd uchelfannau proffesiwn cystadleuol tu hwnt ac am ddisgyn i waelodion enbyd hefyd. Maer storin un ddiflewyn-ar-dafod, yn lliwgar, yn ddiddorol ac yn ddifyr iawn ond rwyn teimlo bod ganddo dipyn o ffordd i fynd eto cyn ei fod en gallu llwyr argyhoeddi pobl ei fod wedi dysgu gwers or hyn sydd eisoes wedi digwydd yn ei fywyd.
