About the Book

The Model T Ford is unique. In 1920, more than half the cars in the world were Model Ts, and when production ended in 1927, 15 million had been built. Thousands survive to this day, and there’s a worldwide community of enthusiasts who enjoy the Ford's simple practicality, robustness, and affordability. What’s more, availability parts for cars and trucks is excellent. This book has been written by two expert enthusiasts with more than 50 years' and tens-of-thousands of miles combined experience of the Model T. It describes all the many variants and changes, and even explains how to drive a Model T – different, but not difficult. It helps you decide exactly what sort of Model T you want, and what to look for when you go to examine one. More than 70 contemporary and modern photographs accompany and support the text and tables.

Review :
It is excellent value ... will help any new owner to start off his Model T experience on the right footing. T Topics; The series of the purchase advice booklet Essential Buyer's Guide has meanwhile grown to almost 100 titles, but prewar wagons are very cheap. With the 64-page book about the Ford T, this hat is closed for the first world car of the automobile history. The countless car body variants, technical tips, potential weaknesses- briefly the usual useful content- with special consideration of the pre-war vehicles, to which we have been accustomed in this series.- Austro Classic. I have been interested in Model T and other Fords for many years. I am also a Model T owner. This book was a surprise. It contains so much useful information in its 64 pages, it is truly amazing. If you are considering the purchase of your first Model T, reading this book will give you plenty of useful information, whether you decide to purchase of not. I would think even long time T owners could learn something from this well written, illustrated publication. Well done. - The Bent Wire. We've all heard of the Model T, 'Tin Lizzie', 'Flivver', whatever. The vast majority of us recognise one without difficulty. We know they made an awful lot in the car's 19-year production run - 15 million in fact. We understand its importance to motoring history and that it was not only described as "the car that out the world on wheel", but also it was voted The Car of the 20th Century. Quite and achievement for a bar bones, surprisingly and cheap to buy motor car. Having said that, how many of us have even sat in a Model T Ford, let alone driven one? Without a doubt, surprisingly few. Yet the Model T, in all its numerous versions, is arguably one of the cheapest and most practical pre-war classic cars one can buy or restore. Yes, the top speed in only 40mph and the brakes, at beat, are minimal, but considering their age, there are still vast numbers on the road. Model Ts have an almost unrivalled spares availability, huge worldwide enthusiasts' club support and are easy to restore and fix when something goes wrong. Prices vary enormously on condition, year, and body style, but all are affordable and if you want to start with just a chassis and build one from there, it's both a simple process and relatively easy on the wallet. That's where Veloce's pocket-sized guide becomes essential reading. There's an awful lot of information in it's 64 pages, explain gin the options available, an idea of the costs, how to operate the car's unique controls, what to look for, potential problem areas, the pros and cons of a DIY build and whether to retain the 'barn find' look or restore to concours condition. There is a useful trouble-shooting section and a copious list of club details, parts and service suppliers. It concludes with some essential statistics which will aid the potential buyer in determining the true age of the car and its major components. If you fancy joining the Model T fraternity this is invaluable. - Classic American.
