About the Book

Jalopy - A Car's Story in Five Drivers is a beautifully told tale about a little car. To begin with Jalopy is brand new, shiny and red, and won in a competition by Mrs Ethel Thomas - but Mrs Thomas can't drive, so sadly she puts Jalopy up for sale. Before she can sell Jalopy, petty crooks Masher and Spud, who need a get-away car for their next bank-job, steal Jalopy. Left outside the bank on double yellow line, Jalopy is towed away to the pound...This satisfying, original story is skilfully crafted by expert storyteller Geraldine McCaughrean.

About the Author :
Geraldine McCaughrean has written over 140 books and plays for both adults and children, including Peter Pan in Scarlet, the official sequel to J M Barrie's Peter Pan, which was one of the most talked about and successful children's titles of 2006. Geraldine McCaughrean has won the Carnegie Medal, the Whitbread Children's Book Award (three times), the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, the Smarties Bronze Award (four times), the Blue Peter Book of the Year award and the Blue Peter Special Book to Keep Forever award.
