About the Author :
Tony Roberts began his cycle-racing career in 1956 and had some 12 seasons campaigning as an amateur in Europe. In the early 1970s he became involved in cycling administration and race organization, while continuing to compete. During that period he also worked as a coach, and coached three South African champions. In 1974 he was instrumental in forming an association catering for veteran racing cyclists, and in gaining recognition for Veterans as a separate category. Since the early 1980s he has continued his involvement in cycling administration, and also officiates at major events. For the last decade or so, Tony has been involved with Pedal Power Association, a non-profit organization founded to promote recreational cycling. In particular, he helped to develop an International Stage race known as the Giro del Capo. Consultants Company of Cyclists are the leading UK cycle consultancy and promotion company. US consultant Candice Ridge raced for more than 10 years, many of those years spent racing on the US national circuit. In November of 2000, she moved to California and took over as owner and editor of Bike.com, an online professional road cycling magazine.
