John Wagner
John Wagner has been scripting for 2000 AD for more years than he cares to remember. His creations include Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Ace Trucking, Al’s Baby, Button Man and Mean Machine. Outside of 2000 AD his credits include Star Wars, Lobo, The Punisher and the critically acclaimed A History of Violence.
Gordon Rennie
Gordon Rennie is one of 2000 AD's most prolific creators, with co-creative credits for Caballistics, Inc., Missionary Man, Necronauts, Storming Heaven, Rain Dogs and Witchworld. Rennie has written for Heavy Metal and Warhammer, as well as Species, Starship Troopers and White Trash.
Al Ewing
Al Ewing has been a Judge Dredd aficionado since the age of nine, and is best known in the UK for his work on Dredd in 2000 AD, where he also co-created Zombo and Damnation Station. In addition, Ewing has written various novels for Solaris and Abaddon Books, including The Fictional Man, Pax Omega and Gods of Manhattan. His work in American comics includes an acclaimed run on The Immortal Hulk for Marvel and We Only Find Them When They're Dead for Boom!
Michael Carroll
Michael Carroll is the author of over forty books, including the award-winning New Heroes series of Young Adult superhero novels and the best-selling cult graphic novel Judge Dredd: Every Empire Falls. He currently writes Proteus Vex and Judge Dredd for 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Megazine, Jennifer Blood for Dynamite Entertainment, Razorjack for Titan Books, and the Judge Dredd, Rico Dredd and JUDGES novellas for Abaddon Books.
Alan Grant
With over 300 2000 AD stories to his name – not to mention over 250 Daily Star Judge Dredd strips – Alan Grant’s prolific creative record speaks for itself. Outside the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Grant is well-known to Batman fans following a lengthy run on various incarnations of the title. One of his final creations was to adapt Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novels Kidnapped and Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde in Graphic Novel format with artist Cam Kennedy.
Rob Williams
Rob Williams is the writer of Suicide Squad and Martian Manhunter for DC Comics, Unfollow for Vertigo and Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor for Titan Comics. His previous work for 2000 AD includes Judge Dredd: Titan, The Grievous Journey Of Ichabod Azrael (And The Dead Left In His Wake) and The Ten-Seconders.
Ben Willsher
Ben Willsher got his break in comics in the ground-breaking Deadline magazine (home of Tank Girl), before being stolen by the world of computer games, where he has worked as an Art Director for many years. However, the lure of Comics was too strong and he came back to 2000 AD and has drawn Future Shocks, Pulp Sci-Fi, Tharg’s Terror Tales, Sinister Dexter, Damnation Station, but he is probably best known for his work on Judge Dredd. As well as reviving the uber cool grifter Lenny Zero, with original creator Andy Diggle, Willsher has also drawn a movie Dreddverse strip titled Dust.
Beyond his accomplishments in the world of comics he has also worked in film, television and the music industry, and is heavily involved in the World of Doctor Who, where he has illustrated work for the Time Lord luminaries such as Russell T Davies and Mark Gatiss.
John Higgins
John Higgins is a multi-talented 2000 AD artist and writer; as well as scripting a Future Shock and Judge Dredd, Higgins has illustrated Chopper, Freaks, One-Offs, Tharg the Mighty, Time Twisters and Dreadnoughts.
Mike Collins
Mike Collins is the illustrator and co-creator of American Gothic. He has also worked on Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Sinister Dexter, Sláine and several Future Shocks.
Leigh Gallagher
Leigh Gallagher was looked upon strangely as he attempted to leap triumphantly in the air when Tharg gave him his first professional comics work in 2000 AD. Since then he has worked on Vertigo’s The Witching, DC Comics’ Justice League Unlimited, and he was the 2008 artist on Lego’s Bionicle, based on the popular toy line. Back with 2000 AD he worked on Defoe, reinventing himself using a style inspired by his early love of British comics Scream, Eagle and, of course, 2000 AD. He has finally realised he will never accomplish that triumphant leap, but is still looked upon strangely.
Cliff Robinson
Cliff Robinson is one of 2000 AD’s longest-serving artists, having made his debut with a Future Shock way back in Prog 362! Since then, he has co-created Mother Earth, and illustrated numerous Judge Dredd strips, as well as Future Shocks, Judge Anderson and Venus Bluegenes.
Bryan Talbot
Bryan Talbot is one of the UK’s most respected comics artists. He has contributed to Future Shocks, Judge Dredd, Nemesis the Warlock, Ro-Busters and Sláine in the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic
Beyond 2000 AD, Talbot is renowned for his body of graphic novel work, which includes The Adventures of Luther Arkwright, Heart of Empire, The Tale of One Bad Rat and Alice in Sunderland.
Peter Doherty
Peter Doherty is primarily known to fans of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic as artist of the Young Death series, which opened the Judge Dredd: Megazine’s first volume, but he has also contributed extensively to Judge Dredd, working on the epic ‘Judgment Day’ as well as many shorter stories, including John Wagner’s classic ‘Bury My Knee At Wounded Heart’. Outside of 2000 AD, Doherty’s comic work includes The Dreaming, Superman/Batman: World’s Finest, a Grendel Tales series and Shaolin Cowboy.
Colin MacNeil
Since joining 2000 AD in 1986 Colin MacNeil has worked on many strips, including Chopper: Song of the Surfer and the infamous death of Johnny Alpha in Strontium Dog: The Final Solution. He went on to collaborate with John Wagner on the award-winning America for the Judge Dredd Megazine. He has also worked on Shimura, Maelstrom and* Fiends of the Eastern Front: Stalingrad*, and, outside of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, provided the atmospheric artwork on Bloodquest for Games Workshop. He also enjoys creating large abstract paintings. He says it’s art therapy!
Henry Flint
Henry Flint, winner of the National Comics Awards for Best Comic Artist 2004, is one of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’s brightest stars. Co-creator of Sancho Panzer, Shakara, and the fan-favourite strip, Zombo, his incredibly versatile pencils have also graced A.B.C. Warriors, Judge Dredd/Aliens, Deadlock, Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis the Warlock, The V.C.’s and Venus Bluegenes. He has even written a Tharg’s Alien Invasions strip! He has also worked on several American comics, including Omega Men, Haunted Tank and Fear Itself: Fearsome Four. Away from the comics industry, Henry produced art of the cover of DJ Food’s 2012 album, The Search Engine.
