About the Book

Green chemistry has now been around in the academic world for some thirty years but the biggest impact it can have in terms of reducing pollution and waste and moving towards the greater use of safe and sustainable chemicals will be in industry. This book provides a series of views from industry on the importance of green chemistry, both in terms of current and future activities in their businesses. With contributions from large and small companies, established and new businesses and from different countries, this book provides a valuable in-house perspective on how important green and sustainable chemistry is to industry. Chapters emphasise the benefits to businesses of adopting green chemistry, including reduced costs and new business opportunities, and how these justify the additional costs of adopting new processes.
