Die Ägypter experimentierten mit dem Backen und dem Hinzufügen von Salz, um die ersten Brotrezepte herzustellen. Die frühesten Anzeichen von Brot werden auf etwa 9500 v. Chr. Datiert. Es ist bekannt, dass um diese Zeit Weizen und andere Getreidesorten angebaut wurden. Die Menschen waren zu dieser Zeit zuversichtlich, mit Feuer zu kochen, daher würden wir erwarten, dass eine Art Brot oder Brötchen hergestellt wurde, aber es ist nicht 100% bewiesen.
