About the Book

Apply proven data architecture techniques to solve real-world challenges and demystify your company's data. Key Features Explore data normalization techniques with C# and learn when to use the various forms in practice Improve your organization’s data architecture with data governance and master data management Learn how data governance can improve data quality in both warehousing and source systems Book DescriptionIn today's Internet-driven business world, companies are highly dependent on having data that can be leveraged for making business decisions. Data quality is paramount to the success of those decisions. Data architecture brings the promise of sound decisions based on sound data by implementing proven techniques for data management. Scalability matters, and you will learn how to build data systems to scale. This book helps you understand the principles behind building sane data systems, along with providing code samples for tools to assist in the construction and deployment of those data systems. The book begins by presenting the fundamentals of modern data architecture, including data modeling, storage, and management. Once the foundation of a data system is established, you will learn how to fill a central data repository using data integration techniques applied via C#. The integration work will involve data extraction, transformation, and loading concepts that can be applied to data systems, both big and small. Once you have loaded data into the central repository, you'll discover how to organize that data into a form that can be showcased via data visualization tools. By the end of the book, you will be able to successfully apply your new knowledge to a provided case study, and then to your enterprise's data systems. What you will learn Understand the importance of data quality for business decision making Demonstrate knowledge and practice of dimensional modeling principles Design, develop, and implement C# processes for data solutions Construct and use C# RESTful APIs for data loading and subscriptions Develop the ability to communicate insights via data visualizations Analyze large datasets using C# tools, techniques, and frameworks Evaluate and apply best practices for data governance, MDM, and DQ Who this book is forThis book is intended for anyone wanting to learn or brush-up on modern data architecture techniques. Data architects, data developers, data engineers, and application developers wanting to understand the building blocks of data systems including data transport, storage, and analytics will be able to advance their skill set with this book. A basic understanding of data types along with simple data constructs like tables, procedures, functions, and views is foundational to getting started with this book. Knowledge of basic SQL query construction is also necessary.
