About the Book

"Ortega's multifaceted production is organised in this book from a triple perspective that situates the philosopher at the centre of 21st-century discourse, examining his work from the perspectives of his influence on the individual, the nation and society. Indeed, Ortega foreshadowed the discussions surrounding identity, the necessity of advocating for virtue as a fundamental aspect of collective existence, and the advent of technology across all facets of human activity. The five chapters that comprise this work, authored by experts in contemporary Spanish thought, serve to rekindle interest in Ortega's work and provide readers with a suitable framework to navigate the evolving landscape of contemporary thought. The editor, in accordance with Ortega's assertion that "we only truly comprehend what we have seen being born", has composed a text that elucidates the present era through the recuperation of the prospective perspective that Ortega espoused from his own vantage point. This perspective, in its contemporary iteration, illuminates the present era with the same insights that Ortega proffered."
