Thus begins their search for a vast treasure reputed to have belonged to the Knights Templar. To find it, they must decipher clues that take them throughout Italy and ultimately to a Mediterranean island fortress. The writers' ability to convey a sense of place is remarkable, their research shines without announcing itself as research, and the resulting experience allows the reader to feel that she is in the hands of experts.
