About the Book

The optimization of traffic management operations has become a considerable challenge in today's global scope due to the significant increase in the number of vehicles, traffic congestions, and automobile accidents. Fortunately, there has been substantial progress in the application of intelligent computing devices to transportation processes. Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) are a specific practice that merges the connectivity of wireless technologies with smart vehicles. Despite its relevance, empirical research is lacking on the developments being made in VANETs and how certain intelligent technologies are being applied within transportation systems. About the Author :
Ram Shringar Rao received his Ph.D. (Computer Science and Technology) from School of Computer and Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India in 2011. He did M. Tech (Information Technology) and B. Tech (Computer Science Engineering) in 2005 and in 2000 respectively. He has worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (A Central University), Amarkantak, MP, India. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies and Research, GGSIP University, Delhi, India. He has more than 18 years of teaching, administrative and research experience. Dr. Rao has worked administrative works in the capacities of Member of Academic Council (IGNTU,India), Chief Warden, Head of Office, Students Welfare Officer (DSW), Coordinator University Cultural Cell, Coordinator University Computer Center, HoD of Computer Sc. and Engg., Proctor, Warden, etc. He has organized many Conferences, Faculty Development Programmes, Seminars and Workshops at National and International levels. He has delivered many Expert and Invited Lectures at National and International levels. Dr. Rao has published around 100 research papers with good impact factors in reputed International Journals and Conferences including IEEE, Springer, Wiley & Sons, Taylor & Fransise, Inderscience, Hindawi, IERI Letters, etc. His current research interest includes Mobile Ad-hoc Networks, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks and Cloud Computing. Vishal Jain is currently working as Associate Professor with Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi Affiliated to GGSIPU and Accredited by AICTE, since July, 2017 to present. He has joined BVICAM, New Delhi in year 2010 and worked as Assistant Professor from August, 2010 to July, 2017. Before joined BVICAM, New Delhi, he has worked four years in Guru Presmsukh Memorial College of Engineering, Affiliated to GGSIPU and Accredited by AICTE, from July 2004 to July, 2008. He has more than 300 research citation indices with Google scholar h-index score 9 and i-10 index 9. His research area includes Information Retrieval, Semantic Web, Ontology Engineering, Data Mining, Adhoc Networks and Sensor Networks. He has received Young Active Member award for the year 2012 – 13 from Computer Society of India. Omprakash Kaiwartya is currently working as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Science and Technology, Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK. Previously, He was a Research Associate at the Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK, in 2017 and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2016. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, in 2015. His research interest focuses on IoT centric future technologies for diverse domain areas focusing on Transport, Healthcare, and Industrial Production. His recent scientific contributions are in Internet of connected Vehicles (IoV), Electronic Vehicles Charging Management (EV), Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT), and Smart use case implementations of Sensor Networks. He is Associate Editor of reputed SCI Journals including IET Intelligent Transport Systems, EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communication and Networking, Ad-Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks, IEEE Access, and Transactions on Internet and Information Systems. He is also Guest Editor of many recent special issues in reputed journals including IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Access, MDPI Sensors, and MDPI Electronics.
