Providing best practices in these areas will help professionals to create methods for change and suggestions for unity on a global level. Examining Social Change and Social Responsibility in Higher Education is an essential research publication that explores current cultural norms and their influence on curriculum and educational environments and intends to improve the understanding of social change and social responsibility at different sociological levels within various fields pertaining to higher education. Highlighting topics such as campus safety, social justice, and mental health, this book is ideal for academicians, professionals, researchers, administrators, and students working in various disciplines (e.g., academic advising, leadership, higher education, adult education, campus climate, Title IX, SAVE/VAWA, and more). Moreover, the book will provide insights and support executives concerned with the management of expertise, knowledge, information, and organizational development in different types of work communities and environments.

About the Author :
Sherri L. Niblett Johnson is the CARE Team Coordinator and an Academic Counselor at Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus, in Georgetown, Delaware. She received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Delaware State University with a research specialization in sexual assault awareness and prevention on college campuses. Her broad interests are involved with inclusion, social justice, and acceptance among the population as a whole, as well as the importance of promoting a safe environment for all citizens seeking higher education. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Dr. Johnson understands the need for a holistic approach to student success. She has an eclectic style that involves gratefulness, appreciation, and positivity and its ability to change and maintain a healthy approach to leadership that includes reciprocity regardless of what position a professional holds. Dr. Johnson considers her two sons, Brodie & Logan, and her niece and nephew, Darian & Rhett, as her inspiration to help make a difference in the world. Dr. Johnson helped develop and implement a sexual misconduct survey in 2017 and was able to use this survey to help develop prevention and awareness campaigns throughout Delaware Tech. In addition to Delaware State University, she is also alumna of Delaware Tech and Wilmington University, and uses these connections to collaborate on statewide projects regarding institutions of higher education. Dr. Johnson’s publications include Chapter 24 of the “Handbook of Research of Instructional Systems and Technology” entitled, “Social Media and Technology May Change the Culture of Rape on College Campuses.” Dr. Johnson has served as the NACADA, Global Community for Academic Advising, State of Delaware Liaison, and most recently as the 2018 NACADA Region 2 Conference Co-Chair. Dr. Johnson was able to use this forum to showcase the many initiatives being implemented through our higher education systems. Her leadership in this arena has brought together many colleges and universities throughout Delaware, and its surrounding states, to provide professional development that is relevant to the region. Dr. Johnson values her memberships with NACADA, the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the Delaware ACE Womens Network (DAWN) for the ongoing connections with and support from colleagues in higher education, mental health, and addiction.
