No séc. XIX o filósofo Arthur Schopenhauer escreveu a Metafísica do Amor, descrevendo o amor como um artifício usado pela natureza biológica para objetivar a perpetuação da espécie, sem que o homem se apercebesse de tal ato. A reflexão exposta neste livro é um Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso em Filosofia, em que, consistia em saber se nos dias atuais o seu fundamento metafísico vai além do que ele poderia ter imaginado em sua época, por ser outro o contexto social, cultural e sexual. Essa mesma reflexão demonstra que a natureza humana encontrou novos caminhos, para perpetuar a espécie, pois sem distinção nenhuma o ser humano faz parte de um todo previamente elaborado. O amor é fundamentalmente humano e se faz mais válido ainda nos dias atuais, com a diversidade das relações humanas, que buscam a felicidade através do amor, mas que somente estão perpetuando a espécie em si. Os métodos utilizados para a pesquisa foram através de revistas digitais na internet e livros. O resultado foi o de poder não só tratar o tema schopenhaueriano, mas o de estabelecer que a metafísica de Schopenhauer não está só nas relações entre sexos opostos, mas também nas variações de relacionamentos estabelecidos por todos os seres humanos. No primeiro capítulo foi desenvolvido o conteúdo do pensamento em questão na obra Metafísica do amor. No segundo capítulo foram abordados os novos caminhos encontrados pela natureza humana através da ciência e da tecnologia por meio da reprodução humana. O terceiro capítulo se utilizando da mesma metafísica desenvolve-se na adoção mais um caminho utilizado pela natureza, no qual, o amor é ainda mais fundamental para realizar a vontade de vida.
