About the Book

Updated and Revised 10th Anniversary Edition. Moving to the UK from America after marrying a British vicar, Amy Boucher Pye recounts some of the uniquely British things she negotiated as she settled into her new life. Working through the church year and seasons, Still Finding Myself in Britain captures the uniquely British take on life and faith from the outside looking in. With a conversational style, Amy explores rooting our faith in Christ to weather any storm and flourish in the sunshine and discovers that our true identity is not based on our physical home or location, but who we are in Christ. As you consider various quirks and customs in Britain - from plumbing to accents to tea and queuing - you'll sense God's gentle and loving invitation to find yourself in him. Includes revised chapters, a new foreword by Paul Kerensa and a new epilogue to bring the reader up to date with Amy's story. Still Finding Myself in Britain will help you: * Discover your identity and faith even if you feel lost or out of your depth * Find hope in Jesus whatever your circumstances * See how God's plans work through the seasons of your life * Embrace change with God's help * Cook up delicious American food from Amy's family recipes

Review :
'Amy Boucher Pye's fish-out-of-water tale is superbly relatable yet uniquely insightful. We won't all move across an ocean to marry a Church of England vicar (though if you are, wow is this the book for you . . .) - but we can all empathize with that odd feeling of being a stranger in a foreign land. Make that a hope-filled American experiencing bizarre British life, and you have before you a few hundred pages of joy.' 'I love this book because it is so Amy... There were moments when her honesty and pain choked me, others when she made me laugh out loud - at myself, at my nation with our whacky ways, tacky traditions and dotty sense of humour. From toilets to tea and tennis, drizzle to driving, reserve to religious observance, sarcasm to self-deprecation, queuing to cricket, not to mention language, class and vicarage oddities - it's all there - all the British foibles that make other nations think us bizarre. To see yourself as others see you - ouch! And yet, in Amy's gentle hands it's a revelation - funny, challenging, surprising, chastening and cheering. Read and enjoy. You will. As I turned the last page, I could only say, with profound thankfulness, that America's loss has been our gain.' 'What a joy it is to peer over Amy's shoulder and enter into the seasons of life through her eyes. I found myself drawn much deeper into the question of what makes us who we are wherever we are. Amy is not just a social commentator, she is a discoverer of life and meaning, and her reflections invite us all to create memories and a place called home - wherever we are.'
