About the Author :
ROBERT BLOFIELD is an independent filmmaker and film production teacher from Hampshire, UK. He began creating independent video productions for film festivals and freelance projects in 2005 and, since becoming enthralled with the medium, has gone on to teach professional film and television production techniques to a new generation of filmmakers. Robert is currently in the pre-production stages of three fictional shorts, which he will be directing and unveiling at major film festivals in 2015/16. VENETIA DEAN studied for an Art and Design degree at Leeds University where she experimented for a while in ceramics and photography before deciding that illustration was her calling. She lives in Leeds with her husband, two children and two dogs (a Spaniel and a Labrador) - she says there's never a dull moment in her house! She loves living in Leeds as she can draw so much inspiration for her illustrations and photography.

Review :
In simple, clear explanatory texte with bright informative pictures, this spiral-bound book takes you through each of the stages involved in making a film with your camera or moile phone. Great for the budding film-maker. This book gives a simple outline on how to write, direct and edit your first film, and does exactly that! [...] Of particular use in any library that runs a film club, but also very readable for those students wanting to know how it's done, would suit KS2-3 well. Covering everything from where to find inspiration, to mastering light and sound (generally the area most overlooked by first-time directors), it is both informative and inspiring. Skill nine, of ten, covers ways to get your film shown. The spiral bound format should make it easy to use even on set! It will be highly valued for use at home and also in schools - a great idea for an after-school club, perhaps. With spiral binding, excellent use of diagrams and charts to show the flow of work, this is an excellent and inspiring guide.
