About the Book

'Surprising and complex' - B.P. WALTER 'Suspenseful and perfectly crafted' - VICTORIA SELMAN 'A profoundly thrilling descent into the deadly nature of obsession' - JANICE HALLETT It's always the husband... Isn't it? Astrid Webb is missing. The police have found her car crashed near the woods, the driver's door open, the seat spotted with blood. Her husband Bryan is sure that she's alive - after all, this isn't the first time she's vanished, only to reappear without explanation. As the days pass, Bryan starts to look like a suspect - because he isn't telling the police the whole truth. Not about Astrid's stalker, their broken-in back door, or the threatening messages. Then a woman's body is found in the woods, her face terribly disfigured. By staying silent, is Bryan protecting Astrid, or protecting himself? From the bestselling author of The Regret and The Box, this heart-pounding thriller is perfect for readers of Harlan Coben, Mark Billingham and Alex North. 'Proper entertainment' - EMMA CURTIS 'An utter page-turner' - SARAH BONNER 'So many twists and turns' - SAM HOLLAND

Review :
A cat-and-mouse thriller where the reader is kept on their toes throughout I couldn't put The Wreckage Of Us down. It was so good and there were so many unexpected twists and turns Deliciously satisfying... A taut, cleverly written and gripping work of domestic noir that delivers a sense of unease and a healthy dose of skepticism Fast moves and tautly-edged descriptions... Frequent reveals stop any sense of reader complacency. Works well This profoundly thrilling descent into the deadly nature of obsession is made even more breath-taking by vivid characterisation and pitch-perfect pace. The story is in another league - intelligent, mature and relatable. So chillingly believable I was pondering its twists and themes long after the final page had turned. Dan Malakin at his absolute brilliant best. A triumph A searing thriller that delivers shock after shock with expert timing. The intriguing mystery at its heart twists and turns into something surprising and complex, taking the reader on a dizzying ride Twisted and teased until I didn't know up from down. Great characters and a satisfying ending The sands don't stop shifting until the very last page; suspenseful, thrilling and perfectly crafted A dark and chilling story that could be ripped from today's headlines I changed my mind as to who the bad guy was and what was going on with every chapter. So many twists and turns I ended up dizzy. Great fun Hugely compelling and an utter page turner: this is clever, dark, and full of masterful twists. I loved it Challenging everything I thought I knew, this twisty page turner by Dan Malakin is brilliant. Such an intricate, spectacularly clever plot littered with characters I care about beyond the last page... This is not to be missed Superbly and skilfully done. Dan's writing is excitingly crisp, sharp and engrossing A tense exploration of manipulation and obsession that is utterly addictive. An absolute masterclass in thriller writing Twisty, compelling and full of suspense A twisty, gripping thriller, in which difficult themes are handled with a deft touch. Compelling characters and perfect pacing make for a thrilling read A masterful study in the art of manipulation, where not everything is as it seems and everyone has something to hide. One of the best thrillers I have read in a long time If you want an engaging style, a hook at the end of every chapter, a vivid, dark, twisty, unafraid-to-go-there thriller THIS IS FOR YOU Excellent... A brilliant domestic noir novel Insanely twisted. I absolutely loved it... One of my favourite reads of the year Addictive
