About the Book

Sitting high in the branches of a tall tree in the forest, there is a den made from bits of wood, and rope, and Grandma's old parasol. But for one child it is much, much more -- it's a castle, a pirate ship, an igloo, a plane.    A place to dream.    Joyful and lyrical, This is My Treehouse observes the endless adventures our imaginations can take us on, and the sanctuary offered by a space to call our own.    With tender text from award-winning author Guillaume Guéraud, and stunning visuals from graphic novel artist Alfred, this evocative story celebrates the playful wonder of childhood.

About the Author :
Guillaume Guéraud is an award-winning children's author from France. He was a journalist before starting to write for young people, with much of his work influenced by growing up in a disadvantaged neighbourhood in Bordeaux. He has written several acclaimed children's novels and has collaborated with Alfred on graphic novels and picture books. Guillaume currently lives in near Montpelier, France. Alfred is a prize-winning graphic-novel artist, illustrator and screenwriter from France. His graphic novel Come Prima won the prestigious Fauve d'Or at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Alfred adapted Guillaume Guéraud’s children's novel I Will Not Die Game into a graphic novel and the pair have collaborated on several graphic novels and picture books.

Review :
'A child's hidden retreat provides a sanctuary for richly imagined worlds of wonder and enchantment. Text and spot illustrations opposite dramatic full-page art in pencil, watercolor, and ink.' -- Bank Street, Best Children's Books of the Year 2025 'Building upon imaginative play this story allows readers to believe in worlds beyond what they see in front of them and gives them license to think creatively... A satisfying fantastical journey that speaks to the power of fantasy and the importance of finding one's sanctuary.' -- Kirkus Reviews 'It's an ode to solitary play but there is no sense of loneliness. Like the text, the stunning illustrations evoke the wonder of nature and the imagination. A quiet lyrical book.' -- JUNO 'There should be more books like this.' -- Kindling 'Bold colours capture the adventurous spirit of the book... Readers can look forward to being immersed in the simple joys of childhood, and how a little imagination can make everyday experiences magical. A great read for those who dream and play pretend, and the adults who never really stopped.' -- YA Books Central 'French award-winning author Guillaume Guéraud shows the power of a child’s inventiveness as they sit in their treehouse letting their imagination run riot. A charming story... it explores the imaginary adventures of childhood and the importance of having our own space.' -- Outside In World 'The artwork really takes you into this dreamland of imagination where anything is possible! So beautiful!' -- Luminous Libro 'A lyrical tribute to the simple joys of childhood and creativity. A great book to engage readers on lazy summer days or to relax after school.' -- All Done Monkey 'It truly encapsulates the joy and magic of childhood. A book to share the nostalgia of your childhood and to remind us to let our children be a little wild and free in nature.' -- Busy Busy Learning (Instagram) 'A heartwarming and cozy read that encourages children to explore the faraway places their imagination can take them.' -- Bookishly Cultivated (Instagram) 'Anyone who has longed for a treehouse will find themselves in this book.
