About the Author :
Kirby-Jane Hallum is based at the University of Auckland. Her research interests are Aestheticism, Consumer and Commodity theory, New Zealand fiction, Victorian popular fiction, English, Gender and Sexuality. Recent publications include 'The New Zealand New Woman: Translating a British Cultural Figure to a Colonial Context', Literature Compass (2014) and "A Thing of Beauty": Women as Aestheticised Commodities in Popular Victorian Fiction (2012).
