About the Book

Would you know if someone close was lying to you? Do you want to get the truth out of people? Do you need the upper hand in negotiations? You need this book to avoid someone lying to you, manipulating you, or backing you into a corner. Written by a highly successful former US army interrogator, this book explains how to read body language and behaviour to get to the truth in any situation. Applied to both the business world and personal life, this book uncovers how you can tell if someone is lying by what there are saying or not telling you, as well as how they act. This book is a practical guide to learning and using the sophisticated psychological tools of interrogators to spot a liar, avoid being manipulated and get ahead in life.

About the Author :
Gregory Hartley's expertise as an interrogator first earned him honours with the United States Army. More recently, it has drawn organisations such as the Navy SEALS and national TV to seek his insights about how to as well as why. Greg has an illustrious military record, including earning the prestigious Knowlton Award, which recognises individuals who have contributed significantly to the promotion of Army Intelligence. Greg has provided expert interrogation analysis for major television, radio stations and newspapers in both the US and UK. Maryann Karinch is the author of 10 books, most of which address human behaviour. Her corporate background includes senior communications positions within technology companies. Maryann and Gregory are co-authors of Get People to Do What You Want.

Review :
Review I expected this to be another 'pop' psychology puff piece, but found that the authors facts and real world experience make it hard hitting and very credible. This book is helpful for virtually anyone - a parent, teacher, friend, employer, employee, sales clerk and anyone else - who has contact with children and adults, who in some situations might benefit by lying. --Reader review, Amazon.com This book is insightful, revealing and surprising. It will even have you thinking about your own motivations for saying and acting the way you do! --Reader review, Amazon.com Hartley and Karinch explain how to observe and interpret body language, conduct more productive arguments, and improve your personal and business relationships… I recommend this book to managers, interviewers, job seekers, couples and anyone interested in self-help or psychology. --Reader review, Amazon.com Review This book is insightful, revealing and surprising.
