About the Book

Emma de Villiers lives with her family in Nova Scotia, Canada, in the year of 1864. There are many secrets held behind the tightly shut doors of the Arcadian style house in which she lived, in the town of Argyle. So long ago now, the sounds of a distant piano could be heard escaping from the house. The chords were played so beautifully as they drifted out onto the quiet garden lawn outside. Within a year, the piano would still play, but that was when the screaming started. The terrifying sounds of the screams filled the street beyond, but the piano would always play on. No one ever visited the house and very few were ever to be seen leaving or entering it. You are about to find out why. As the past meets the present, new owners move in and find themselves in for far more than they bargained for. The local people had always said the house on the corner was haunted, and they still do.

About the Author :
Lucie Jacklin is a Welsh author who grew up in the Eastern Province of South Africa. She returned to England when she was seventeen and went to Art College in Herefordshire, England. She made her home in the beautiful seaside town of Tenby in Pembrokeshire, Wales. This is where she raised her three children, Ashley, Wesley and Molly, whilst working for the local newspaper, The Tenby Observer. The author is connected to the ocean and surfed around Pembrokeshire and Cornwall. While surfing her longboard she found a connection to the ocean that remains with her today. Lucie found surfing to be a spiritual journey, something that connected her to nature and to spirituality. Her love of creative writing started as soon as she could read and write. She could always be found with a copy of Dickens or Agatha Christie in her hands. She was fascinated by the story of the Brontë sisters and visited Howarth on several occasions. Lucie currently lives in Canada with her partner Michael and their two dogs, Bronte and Milo. Her first three novels published with Tellwell Talent are The Calling of Cliff House, The Haunting of Bear River and Where the Crows Fly.
