About the Author :
Lorne Tepperman retired from active teaching and research in 2023. During more than fifty years at the University of Toronto, he wrote extensively on crime, social problems, and family life as a professor of sociology. He served as the chair of the Department of Sociology and director of the Health Studies Program at University College. Since retiring, he has devoted himself to writing novels in the Rachel Tile mystery series, of which Dead Before Dinner is the third. Tepperman is currently a regional director of Crime Writers of Canada.
