About the Author :
Colline Hoarau est nee en 1966 a l'ile de la Reunion. Curieuse, elle adore l'ecole et se retrouve souvent premiere de la classe, avec une preference pour les matieres litteraires. Tres sociable et avec un caractere fort, elle est, pendant toute sa scolarite, chef de classe. Elle gardera de ces annees, essentiellement a la Reunion, un souvenir joyeux. A 15 ans, elle suit ses parents dans le Bearn. C'est une difficile rupture avec son ile et ses amis. Elle se plonge dans la lecture, devorant toute la litterature de la bibliotheque d'Orthez. Elle aime les classiques, n'hesitant pas a lire Zola ou Balzac et a apprendre les poesies les plus longues de Lamartine. Elle est recue au bac a 17 ans. Elle a envie de litterature. Une annee de Lettres a la l'universite de Pau ne va pas la convaincre. Elle decouvre l'informatique qui satisfait son esprit avide de nouveautes. Elle passe d'analyste-programmeur a formatrice, preferant l'humain aux machines. Elle change de metier en fonction des opportunites et de ses envies d'apprendre, de passer a d'autres univers. Mariee, puis divorcee, elle veut presenter son ile a ses deux filles. Elle y revient sans retrouver l'air de son enfance. Elle fera plusieurs allers retours entre la metropole et la Reunion. Le choix est impossible entre les deux mondes, si eloignes culturellement et geographiquement. Commence alors une periode tournee vers les autres: un engagement fort a SOS Racisme, la direction d'associations d'insertion, la responsabilite dans un office HLM de la Region parisienne. Passionnee par ce qu'elle fait, Colline HOARAU est toujours tres active. Elle devient chef de cabinet. Elle adore ecrire, des rapports, des discours, et, pendant les longs et frequents conseils municipaux, elle ecrit sur son notebook. Il lui suffit d'ouvrir l'ordinateur pour que les mots arrivent. Les doigts tapotent sur le clavier a toute vitesse. Elle retrouve une amie d'enfance qui lui dit un jour: je pensais que tu deviendrais ecrivain . C'est le declic. Elle imagine alors mettre en forme ses ecrits. C'est ainsi que naitra L'adieu a Lila ou son album reunionnais, son premier roman. Elle s'est installee avec son compagnon en Bretagne depuis 2012, retrouvant la formation. Elle se dit adoptee par les Bretons, apprenant la langue et adorant le caractere de la region. Elle a l'impression de retrouver le cote sauvage du Sud de la Reunion. Elle amenage son temps pour pouvoir lire et ecrire davantage."
