I used to joke about people having a mid-life crisis.
Now that I'm in on 'the joke', it is not so funny.
The question is will I face it, fly from it or freeze in it?
Do I have the courage, humility and faith to search for the ancient path that leads to a more integrated and fulfilling life?
Maybe I will find the rest of my soul... Those parts that I let go or left behind in my pursuit of passion, people and measures of success.
Perhaps you are wondering similar things.
If so, come and join me in the big questions. Let's explore together what it looks like to honestly face ourselves as we figure out how to choose life at the crossroads.
Midlife Crossroads is about how to find your way as you find yourself in the middle of life.
It is an honest journey alongside the reader at this vulnerable stage of life, inviting them to ask the hard questions, face the fears that surface and find the faith to renew the convictions that will carry them into the next half of life.
Why I spent four years working on this book?
Many people struggle through the crisis of midlife alone. Whether this is because of denial, shame or fear, most of us fumble and fume through this confusing life stage without much wisdom to guide us through it or humour to lighten the load along the way.
This is why I wrote this book.
My goal is to remind the reader that they are not alone. I have aimed to help the reader put words to what they might be thinking and feeling during midlife, in a way that does not bring shame or judgment.
My prayer is that by reading this book, they will find or renew godly convictions which can carry them well into the second half of life.
