About the Book

Life in a miniature world at Holyrood House is fun for our Mouse. But sometimes it is better if there is someone to share it with. Occasionally we need a gentle hand to help us find that someone special. A beautifully, illustrated story suitable for the younger reader. A tale that will tap into a child's imagination. Allowing them to enjoy the daily life of a right royal Scottish Mouse and the individuals he meets along the way. Delightful, endearing, humorous and heart-warming. The miniature world of Mouse is playfully creative. It will leave the children squealing with delight!

About the Author :
Karen is a retired teacher, holistic therapist and author. Developing her writing as a poet she has published 'Magical Thoughts and Reflections - An illustrated Poetry Anthology'. July 2023. 'The Mouse at Holyrood House' is an inspired piece of writing that followed a trip to Edinburgh. Mother of two, Karen recognises the need to have a range of beautiful books and stories for bedtime reading. These times are so precious. Stories generate such thought, conversation and fun. Karen wanted 'The Mouse at Holyrood House' to be the best it could be and approached Emma Valenghi to illustrate. The result is just beautiful. Emma Valenghi of Out Of The Garden Shed Studios is a freelance illustrator based in the East Riding of Yorkshire - in her garden shed studio! Emma is a versatile designer, her work having expanded from greetings cards to children's illustration, character design, surface pattern, and even the occasional large-scale mural! Her designs have appeared in high-street stores such as Paperchase, M&S, Next, John Lewis, and most leading supermarkets.Emma loves creating little worlds and hopes her illustrations tell a story and inspire imagination. Emma begins her designs on paper and enjoys a good old pencil sketch, paint, ink, LOTS of texture, mixed media and a spot of hand lettering!
