About the Book

Parents and educators have the same desire: to hear students exclaim, "School is challenging, but I love it!" Unfortunately, our current education system does very little to produce these results. Why? Because we do not knowhow to preserve and grow students' intrinsic motivation. That is the focus of How to Create a Perfect School. Lee Jenkins wrote this invaluable guide to share the proven processes he has developed which encourage students towork hard and enjoy learning. These processes include: organizing student input to maintain their kindergarten level of intrinsic motivation replacing school practices that destroy motivation with ones that accelerate motivation honoring every student for outperforming their own best work adding up every student's contribution for team totals creating students who can clearly explain the learning process to any interested adult. Do these processes really work? Yes! This method has been tested with more than 7500 students, and the results arein. Teachers using this method see an increase in classroom learning by six times the national average. Do you want this to be your school? Then look no further. How to Create a Perfect School is the book you need to leadyour students into long-lasting, student-driven academic success.

About the Author :
Lee Jenkins, Ph.D., is an author, speaker and a recognized authority in improving educational outcomes with 50 years of experience. Before founding LtoJ Consulting Services, he worked as a teacher, principal, school superintendent and university professor. Lee's mission is providing practical, proven solutions for the most perplexing education problems. Angela Willnerd, first grade teacher in Fremont, Nebraska, uses math manipulatives to illustrate effect sizes to her students. The four cubes in her left hand represent the average effect size of .40 from over 250 influences upon student learning. She uses this visual to explain that an effect size of .80 is double the learning of a .40, an effect size of 1.20 is triple the learning of a .40 and so on. The 23 cubes in Ms. Willnerd's right hand represent almost six times the average learning from classrooms utilizing the processes explained in How to Create a Perfect School

"As an administrator, I just love visiting classrooms to observe the results of Lee Jenkins' work. The evidence of students' progress is visible on charts and students' faces." - Julie Otero, Superintendent, South Central Unified School District 5, Nelson, Nebraska "Lee Jenkins has spent almost three decades refining processes and practices that have been proven to produce radical results in improved student performance. Inside How to Create a Perfect School you will find a wealth of practical information that will help you transform your school. Following Lee's suggestions, you will indeed have students saying, 'I can't wait to get to school today!'" - David Hurst, Vice President AdvancED, the international organization accrediting over 30,000 schools "The Jenkins curve needs to be framed in the Education Hall of Fame. It is powerful, scary and actionable. Schools MUST be inviting places for students to come and learn. How to Create a Perfect School details the interventions, the research and the inspirations to dramatically push this curve upward." - John Hattie, author of Visible Learning and Laureate Professor, Melbourne Graduate School of Education, Melbourne, Australia
