About the Book
Welcome to Biblical truths and Godly wisdom, all illustrated with adventure activities like hiking, biking, rafting, climbing, and potentially being chased by ravenous wolves.
Welcome...to Adventure Devos.
Exciting photos? Check. Tackling topics like thought-life, temptation, and job ethics, with examples from caving, surfing waves, or rappelling off cliffs? Check. What about listening for God or getting caught up in our possessions along with swift-water rescue? No worries, it's all there too.
Escape plans for temptation, appreciating women, handling change, encouraging others, and dealing with purpose, fear, humility, and decision trees - good or bad. Along with perspectives on God, self-control, and needing Scripture, they all come together alongside starting fires, runaway horses, blood-sucking leeches and more.
Unique to our devotional, you not only get exciting photos and crazy adventures, we also offer challenging, everyday applications relating to the truths you just read. And yes, we actually Dare you to take them on! Examples include -
- Pick 3 things you love. For 3 days this week, give one up each day - Pray for your kid's future spouse - Pray for the country listed on your shirts "made in" tag - Ignite fires using sparks, alcohol gel, and corn chips - Get up before dawn specifically to sit and pray about something. - Tell your Pastor, group Facilitator, Men's Group leader...you appreciate them. Today - Unless it's immoral, unethical, illegal, or life-threatening, say "yes" to everything for one day
You get the idea. The tone is conversational, the adventures are relatable and the dares are just downright fun.
Adventure Devos. Mornings in God's Word just got a little more dangerous.
Review :
These two not only know adventure, but they also know God's Word, clearly connecting crazy, dangerous pursuits to solid, applicable truths from Scripture. I can easily see men, women, and even youth enjoying the stories here, all while being drawn to spend more time in God's Word as a result. What God does from there, who can guess?
I certainly wish I'd had this book for all my years of youth ministry. Still, this is definitely the devotional for the "Wild at Heart" crowd.

I've slept on narrow ledges above raging rivers and stood waist deep in snowmelt streams with Eric and I can honestly say, he is the real deal when it comes to adventure. It may not be Everest, but what he's up to is just as crazy, and a whole lot closer to home.
Virginia "V" Beineke, at 20 yrs old, the youngest participant to ever be invited to--and complete--what's been called one of the toughest endurance races ever, the 2018 Alaskaman Extreme Triathlon
These two adventure fanatics took every risky experience that didn't kill them and turned them into illustrations of God's wisdom for everyday living, backed up by Scripture. Amazing. A great devotional read for any man.

This book perfectly captures the types of adventures open to just about anyone, anywhere, these days. Not only are you "dared" to take action on what you read and learn with easy, everyday choices, but you can also take on most of the adventures listed too, without having to travel to the other side of the world.

This book totally relates to men! I love the adventure--the crazy places and trips--and the stories born as a result. I get to enjoy the total change of pace this book brings ... the escapes ... without being in any real danger myself. How great is that? Each devotional comes with challenges at the end that are just as creative as the devotional themselves. I think of reading my Bible as my "spiritual meal" for the day--and devotionals make great snacks in between meals for an extra boost. ADVENTURE DEVOS is the power bar of spiritual snacks! There's plenty to chew on.
