In Reiseb�ros, in der Werbung, in der Politik... und manchem auch in Tagtr�umen. Doch was ist Natur eigentlich, was verstehen wir unter diesem Begriff? Ist Natur etwas Gef�hrliches oder etwas Angenehmes, etwas, wonach man Sehnsucht hat?Der 'Naturschutz' ist zum erkl�rten Anliegen vieler Gesellschaften geworden, insbesondere wird dieses Bestreben in den westlichen Industriestaaten artikuliert, deren Bewohner und deren Gesellschaftsleben ich in dieser Arbeit unter dem Begriff Zivilisation subsumiere. Die dieses Bestreben begleitenden Diskussionen basieren vorwiegend auf naturwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen mit dem Ziel der Regeneration - also der Wiederherstellung des urspr�nglichen Zustandes - der Natur. Der Mensch ist jedoch nicht nur physisch, sondern auch emotional von ihr abh�ngig. Um dieses oft vernachl�ssigte, emotionale Verh�ltnis zwischen Mensch und Natur wird es in dieser Arbeit gehen. "Die Geistesgeschichte ist [...] aufgefordert, die naturwissenschaftlich gef�hrte Auseinandersetzung um unsere �kologische Situation durch einen mit historischem Bewu�tsein gef�hrten �sthetischen Diskurs zu begleiten und kritisch zu erg�nzen." In den folgenden Kapiteln werde ich zun�chst kurz auf die Definition des Naturbegriffs eingehen und dann die gegenw�rtige Mensch-Natur-Beziehung aus meiner Sicht beschreiben und versuchen, Erkl�rungsans�tze f�r diese zu finden. Wenigstens seit der Antike bis heute sehnen sich die Menschen nach einem ganz besonderen "aus bestimmten Landschaftselementen zusammengesetzten idyllischen Ort" in der Natur, deshalb wird die Behandlung des "literarischen Topos" 'Locus amoenus' den Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit bilden. Topos meint in diesem Zusammenhang soviel wie "festes Klischee, formelhafte Wendung, Bild."
