About the Book

Book Four of the Rebel King series, titled High King of Ireland, recounts the aftermath of the Scots' rout of the vast English army at Bannok Burn in June 1314. King Edward II's surrendered or captured nobles, many holding valuable titles and lands, become useful to the Scottish king, Robert de Brus, in his years-long struggle to return his stalwart queen, Elizabeth de Burgh, sisters Mary and Christian, daughter Marjory, and the feisty Isabel McDuff home to Scotland. Even so, he must continue fighting to keep England's great army from Scotland's doorstep. Part of this strategy is to send his brother Edward Bruce to invade England's Anglo-Irish territories in Ireland, just off Scotland's western coast. This would not only provide protection for Scotland's shores, but create a heavy drain on English military resources and be a further distraction to King Edward's government, already in turmoil. Edward Bruce, beloved and admired by his men as well as his brother, sets out to follow Robert's plan, but once in Ireland realizes there is a golden opportunity awaiting him... Check out Books One, Two, and Three as we have many enthusiastic readers (over 20,000 sold) that have been waiting on this volume to be published.
