Challenging Great Minds: Volume 5

To encourage the love of literature in classrooms all over the world, we recommend these stories for students, chosen to improve focus, boost memory, boost thinking out the box skills, encourage a passion for reading, thinking about, and discussing great literature. Challenging Great Minds is a series of books each one linking to another, creating a stimulating reading experience. The exercise works as follows; Volume 1 has 9 Chapters each chapter is the first chapter of an individual book. When we read we create a mental picture of what we are reading, the first challenge (focus, creativity and out the box thinking) begins each time we move on to the next chapter because it then becomes a completely different book and therefore forces our minds to create a different mental picture. Our selection showcases the incredible variety of approaches and techniques that great writers have used to entertain us. These stories wander from suspenseful to humorous to surprising; often with a "twist ending" and drive home the concept of irony. We hope they inspire meaningful classroom discussions, build critical analysis skills, and are fun to read. For best reading experience its best to start with Volume 1.

Volume 2 is the continuation of volume 1 so for example; the chapter 1 story in volume 1 continues in chapter 1 of Volume 2 This is where the second challenge comes in (memory and focus) as each of the 9 chapters are linked to the 9 chapters of the previous volume.
