You may have heard about the business life-cycle where a business has its' beginning and its' end and a peek in-between. When you think that this is true and hit a rough spot, which frankly can be quite often, thoughts like "is this it then, have I passed the peek and hit the inevitable closure" can easily crop up. You can even get this advice from experts that oh, well, perhaps it is your time, it is quite old or the days of these types of businesses are over and so on. I like to challenge this notion that when a business is seemingly dead without any customers, the only way forward is closure. Here you get to learn instead to think of your business in terms of different phases it goes through and how you can deal with each of them; from success and maintenance to the funeral phase. Also includes useful business rehearsals and personal creative rehearsals.

About the Author :
Is it possible to avoid closure all together? I am afraid not. The world of business is unpredictable by nature and I don't have a magic recipe that can give you a guarantee. My goal here is to challenge the thinking that a business follows a natural path from start to finish. Thinking instead in terms of phases that a business jumps between I hope to help business-owners to think this is not necessarily the end, but only a phase. By doing so encourage to search for creative solutions. Small shops play a much more important role than just being a shop. When a shop closes a part of the local society and its' soul dies with it.
